Do you find yourself constantly weaving through a tangle of worries and what-ifs?

In this series, author and teacher Karen Stubbs explores the pervasive anxiety moms face throughout different stages of motherhood, from fears about newborn safety to concerns about teenage decisions and adult independence.

Looking at the lives of 5 unique individuals we meet in Scripture, Karen draws parallels between the situations they faced and the circumstances we find ourselves in daily as moms.

Together, we will learn how to trust God, regardless of our circumstances.

We'll learn from the following biblical narratives:

Moses: this lesson draws parallels between Moses’ journey and the challenges of motherhood, emphasizing feelings of loneliness, inadequacy, and the struggle to navigate an unexpected path.

David: Karen shares how she’s often felt overlooked and undervalued, much like David, the youngest of eight brothers who was initially dismissed by his family. She opens up about the challenges moms face—feelings of loneliness, self-doubt, and like life is passing us by—and encourages us to use those hard seasons to draw closer to God.

Woman at the Well: this lesson looks at the struggles of feeling not good enough as a mother, and comparing ourselves to others in moments of failure and guilt.

Martha: this lesson focuses on the challenges of balancing the responsibilities of a busy mom, including stories of stress, misplaced focus and being overly concerned with household tasks.

Jesus: we'll reflect on Jesus’ time in Gethsemane, emphasizing His humanity as He faced overwhelming sorrow and submitted to God’s will despite unanswered prayers.

Hi, I'm Karen Stubbs!

I am passionate about encouraging and equipping women for the hardest job in the world - motherhood.

My own journey raising my four (now adult) children taught me the importance of leaning into biblical wisdom and finding a supportive community of other mothers.

Since 2011, my ministry, Birds on a Wire Moms, has been creating resources for moms around the globe so they can parent with confidence and wisdom on their journey of motherhood.
